Jessica C 傑西卡C
In Hong Kong, Jessica C first became known for her Canon commercials. She moved from modelling into film, playing an athlete in Beach Spike, and then landed action roles in which she tried to do as many of her own stunts as possible. In Zombie Fight Club, her co-star was Andy On. They later married, and after the birth of two children Jessica began appearing on screen far less often.
Jessica Cambensy spent her early childhood in Kentucky. At the age of nine she moved to Chicago. She got into the modeling business through competitions, and after that she began spending long periods away from home. By her own account, in Japan she had to weigh herself regularly at the agency. When there was no one to talk to about how the job worked, she would call her family. Then came shoots in Singapore. In 2009 Jessica moved to Hong Kong, where people began to recognize her from a Canon commercial. By the time she tried her hand at acting, Jessica was already used to working in front of a camera and moving wherever work was offered.
Jessica's first notable role came in Beach Spike (2011). She played Natalie, one of the participants in the match that decides the fate of the beach. Here her ability to move confidently in front of the camera came in handy. For Double Trouble that was no longer enough. The film opened with the theft of a painting, and Jessica was to appear in fight scenes. One day Jaycee Chan Cho-Ming hit her so hard that a protective pad broke. In an interview recalling the incident, Jessica said she had wanted to try herself in an action film and see what she could handle. Chan was her co-star. Before that, in the spring of 2011, she had told journalists that there were few offers in Hong Kong and that she was trying to find work in Los Angeles. In Double Trouble she landed the role she had been going to auditions for. She did not have to give up modeling work, though.
The beginning of her film career also coincides with a story that was widely covered in the Hong Kong press. In October 2011 Jessica was detained over money that another customer had left at an ATM a year earlier. At first she told journalists it was a misunderstanding. Later, in an interview with The New Paper, she admitted she had taken the money and expressed regret. The newspaper also reported at the time that the charge had been dropped. In the same interview Jessica also spoke about the new work she had managed to land during the time journalists had been questioning her mainly about the ATM.
In Zombie Fight Club Jessica played Jenny, who tries to escape a building together with a policeman played by Andy On Chi-Kit. By the middle of the decade they had become a couple. In 2015 they announced their engagement, and after the birth of their daughter they married in Hawaii. Jessica said that at first her family helped her with the baby. Soon after giving birth she returned to work and, among other things, spent a month in Beijing. It was easier for her to cope with the separation when she had something of her daughter's close at hand. In 2018 they had a son.
Jessica also appeared in the action film Undercover Punch and Gun. Later she could more often be seen in modeling shoots, charity events and family posts. In 2021, at one charity event, she admitted that she missed modeling and was glad to be appearing in public again now that the children were a little older. By 2024, according to reports in the Hong Kong press, the family was living in the United States. In the spring of 2026 Jessica could again be seen in her family's posts. By that time she had not announced a return to regular acting work.
